Gan Chenghui Leads Delegation to the Second Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit
On April 25, Gan Chenghui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agricultural Reclamation Bureau, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agricultural Reclamation Group, and Chairman of the Agricultural Reclamation Group, led a delegation to attend relevant events at the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
The Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing from April 25 to 27. This event represents China’s most important home-hosted diplomatic initiative of the year and marks a landmark international gathering. On April 25, Gan Chenghui attended the Sub-Forum on Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones at the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The sub-forum was themed “Working Together to Build Overseas Economic and Trade Cooperation Zones and Promote International Investment Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative,” and was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, with co-sponsorship from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Xu Lejiang, Executive Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce; and Qian Keming, Vice Minister of Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. Guests from Indonesia and other countries also addressed the forum. Participants agreed that overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, as an important platform for jointly building the Belt and Road, play an irreplaceable role in industrial clustering, spillover effects, radiation, and demonstration, and have already received—and will continue to receive—strong support and vigorous promotion from relevant countries.
On April 25, the head of the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and Indonesian partners attended the Business Leaders’ Conference of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the conference brought together more than 850 delegates from over 80 countries and regions. Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Xiao Yaqing, Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and Gao Yan, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, attended the event and delivered remarks. The conference also featured a series of project signing ceremonies, during which the second-phase project of the cooperation zone and the Mengniu Indonesia Factory project were officially signed.
After 10 years of development, the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone has grown into a key platform for Chinese enterprises to establish operations in Indonesia and a crucial lever for Guangxi’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative.
During the meeting, Chairman Gan Chenghui also met with Ms. Tan Danlu and Mr. Li Hongming, the Indonesian partners for Phases I and II of the Cooperation Zone, expressing his hope that both sides would strengthen their collaboration and jointly build the Cooperation Zone to success.
The head of the cooperation zone accompanied the participants in the aforementioned activities.
