Wang Yuefei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Secretary of its Party Leadership Group, Visits and Provides Guidance at the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone
On October 29, Wang Yuefei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Secretary of its Party Leadership Group, led a delegation to the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”) for an inspection and guidance visit. Gan Chenghui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agricultural Reclamation Bureau and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Agricultural Reclamation Group, accompanied the delegation and briefed Wang Yuefei on the construction and development of the Cooperation Zone at the zone’s office building.
Wang Yuefei conducted an on-site inspection of the infrastructure development in the Cooperation Zone and attended a briefing on the zone’s work at the Cooperation Zone Office Building. Gan Chenghui provided Wang Yuefei with a detailed report on the zone’s background, development history, master plan, investment promotion efforts for Phase I projects, and progress in the development of Phase II projects.
After conducting on-site inspections of the construction, operation, and development of the cooperation zone and listening to work reports, Wang Yuefei highly commended the achievements made by the cooperation zone and its current favorable development momentum, and praised Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation Group for its courage in taking on the important task of “going global” to build the cooperation zone. Wang Yuefei pointed out that the cooperation zone is a major project through which Guangxi is responding to the national Belt and Road Initiative and the “Going Global” strategy, and that it carries tremendous significance. The outcomes of the cooperation zone’s development have fulfilled the strategic objectives of both the central government and the autonomous region, thereby bringing honor and prestige to both. Throughout its construction and development, the cooperation zone has not only delivered strong economic benefits but also yielded significant social benefits, setting an exemplary model for Guangxi-based enterprises that are “going global.”
Wang Yuefei also set forth requirements for the next phase of development of the Cooperation Zone: First, he urged the zone to redouble its efforts, accelerate the construction of Phase II, strengthen refined management of the park, continuously improve infrastructure such as roads and landscaping, and enhance the park’s image as a model Chinese industrial park. Second, the zone should further intensify its investment promotion efforts, making full use of platforms such as the China–ASEAN Expo, while also conducting targeted investment promotion campaigns in developed regions like Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Third, the zone should place greater emphasis on “soft” infrastructure—namely, attracting specialized service providers in areas such as law, taxation, and finance—to expand the park’s industrial value chain and service offerings, thereby providing higher-quality support to resident enterprises. Wang Yuefei further stated that he would actively advocate for continued support from the central government and relevant authorities for the development and expansion of the Cooperation Zone.
On October 28, Wang Yuefei also held separate meetings in Jakarta with Farra, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xiao Qian, and other officials. Gan Chenghui accompanied him at the relevant events.
Li Guojian, Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Liu Changlin, a member of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee; Wang Zongwen, Deputy Director of the Beibu Gulf Office of the Autonomous Region; and others accompanied the inspection.
