[Indonesian News] Industry-Government Collaboration Drives Transformation of Industrial Parks
I. Industry-Government Collaboration to Drive the Transformation of Industrial Parks

The Indonesian Industrial Parks Association (HKI), in collaboration with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), is driving the transformation of industrial parks to meet economic, geopolitical, technological, and sustainable development needs. The focus is on strengthening policy planning and the implementation of priority industrial parks to support the 2025–2029 Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN) and industry-park–based National Strategic Projects (PSN). These efforts aim to enhance monitoring, reduce permitting bottlenecks, expedite consultations, and provide data-driven support for decision-making.
II. Indonesia Sets 2026 Export Target of US$315 Billion
Indonesia’s Trade Minister recently stated that, if the 2026 export target of US$315 billion is achieved, it will set a new all-time record for Indonesian exports. Although the 2026 export growth target of 7.09% is slightly lower than the 7.1% projected for 2025, this does not signal an economic slowdown; rather, it reflects an adjustment based on the substantial increase in the previous year’s export base.
The growth target for 2024–2025 is set at 7.1% (with actual growth in 2024 at 2.7%), and in 2026 the growth rate will be slightly adjusted from a high base; however, total export value will increase from approximately US$294 billion in 2025 to US$315 billion, with a further target of US$405 billion by 2029, in order to support Indonesia’s vision of 8% economic growth in 2029.
Despite a slight downward revision of the growth target, the Ministry of Trade remains optimistic about 2026 exports, citing the full implementation of several trade agreements that year as the primary driver of export growth. The government is also developing digital platforms to help businesses more quickly leverage CEPA and FTAs (free trade agreements).
It also outlines an export roadmap for the period 2026–2029. He emphasized that the current government’s priority is not to adjust the structure of export commodities, but rather to focus on market expansion, so as to facilitate smoother access for more promising export products into a greater number of markets.
