Macao Entrepreneurial Delegation Visits and Inspects the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone
On July 17, 2018, a delegation of Macao entrepreneurs led by Mr. Mo Zhiwei, President of the Macao Youth Federation, visited and conducted an inspection tour of the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, where they were warmly received by the zone’s management.
Staff from the Cooperation Zone provided the delegation with a detailed briefing on the zone’s development and construction, expressing their hope that Macao enterprises would invest in and establish factories within the zone. President Mo Zhiwei stated that in recent years Macao has placed great emphasis on integrating itself into the national Belt and Road Initiative; the primary purpose of this fact-finding visit is to gain an in-depth understanding of Indonesia’s investment environment, identify potential investment opportunities, and encourage Macao enterprises to leverage the Cooperation Zone as a platform for investing in Indonesia. During the symposium, the delegation engaged in lively discussions with the staff on topics such as tax policies, labor policies, immigration policies, and priority industries.
The delegation comprised nearly 30 Macao-based enterprises, including the Macao Genesis Enterprise Group and Dayi Construction & Property Co., Ltd. Zhu Ting, Deputy Director of the Public Diplomacy and Press Department of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao Special Administrative Region, also took part in the visit and inspection. The delegation further visited and examined the development of Xidian Cisco, an enterprise located within the Cooperation Zone.
