Delegation from the Guangxi Expo Bureau Conducts Inspection and Research in the Cooperation Zone
On July 12, an eight-member economic and trade delegation organized by the Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau (hereinafter referred to as the Guangxi Expo Bureau) visited the Cooperation Zone for a fact-finding mission, where they were warmly received by the zone’s leadership.
A symposium was held at the Cooperation Zone’s office building, during which the head of the Cooperation Zone provided the delegation with a detailed briefing on the zone’s development background, construction and progress, as well as the strategic vision for transforming Phase II into a “smart” industrial park. The head expressed gratitude for the long-standing strong support extended by the Guangxi Expo Bureau to the Cooperation Zone and urged the bureau to leverage its platform to provide robust promotion and outreach for the zone. Subsequently, accompanied by the Cooperation Zone’s leadership, the delegation visited resident enterprises, including Xidian Indonesia, and engaged in in-depth discussions on the Indonesian power market.
Liang Wei’i, head of the delegation, stated that the visit to the Cooperation Zone is intended to leverage the platform of the China–ASEAN Expo to boost investment and trade between China and Indonesia and to facilitate the establishment of Chinese investments in Indonesia. Most of the enterprises in the delegation already maintain close trade ties with ASEAN countries, particularly Indonesia, and have a strong interest in investing there; some have been closely monitoring relevant projects for many years. As Indonesia was the Guest Country of Honor at the 2019 China–ASEAN Expo, the Guangxi Expo Bureau hopes to encourage more Chinese companies to invest and set up operations in Indonesia, especially within the Cooperation Zone.
The head of the Cooperation Zone held in-depth discussions with members of the delegation of entrepreneurs on Indonesia’s investment policies, land prices, and other related matters. The delegation included heads of relevant divisions of the Guangxi Expo Bureau, Yin Jiming, Deputy General Manager of State Power Investment Corporation Guangxi Company, and Huang Faqiang, Deputy General Manager of Guangxi Mesda Construction Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., among others.
