A Delegation from the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce Conducts a Fact-Finding Visit to the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone
On October 17, a three-member delegation from the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce conducted a fact-finding visit to the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”).
The host and guest sides engaged in a cordial and lively symposium on the topics under review. The head of the Cooperation Zone first expressed heartfelt gratitude to the relevant departments of the Ministry of Commerce for their longstanding strong support, and then provided the visiting delegation with a detailed briefing on the background of the zone’s development, its construction and progress to date, and the strategic vision for the second phase of the zone’s development—a “smart” industrial park. The discussion also delved deeply into the policy bottlenecks, financing challenges, and talent recruitment issues encountered during the past few years of construction and development.
Fan Penghui, head of the inspection delegation, stated that the delegation’s visit to the China–Indonesia Cooperation Zone is intended to gain a deeper understanding of the development of China’s overseas cooperation zones, further enhance policy research and formulation for countries along the Belt and Road, and thereby help Chinese enterprises operating abroad better manage risks and grow stronger. Fan Penghui expressed full recognition of the zone’s development and achievements over the years, as well as its extensive experience in building overseas economic and trade parks. The delegation believes that the zone’s current development status, the challenges it faces, and its policy demands are highly representative. The delegation will compile and report its findings to provide policy support for Chinese enterprises expanding overseas and to promote coordinated policy-making and development between countries.
