China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Participates in the “Hong Kong–Indonesia: Unlocking Business Opportunities” Online Seminar
On August 18, 2020, the “Hong Kong–Indonesia: Unlocking Business Opportunities” seminar was held online. Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam, Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Mahendra Siregar, Special Envoy of the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Office in the Hong Kong SAR Xie Feng, and Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xiao Qian delivered remarks at the event, which drew more than 900 business leaders and professionals from Hong Kong and Indonesia participating virtually.
The China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone was invited to serve as a keynote speaker to present an overview of the zone and engaged in constructive discussions with Hong Kong entrepreneurs on investment opportunities within the zone.
This seminar aims to promote economic, trade, and investment exchanges between Hong Kong and Indonesia, facilitating dialogue and matchmaking to strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, professional services, and science and technology. At present, overseas industrial parks are increasingly serving as key platforms for China–Indonesia economic and trade cooperation, and the seminar has therefore dedicated a special session to Indonesian industrial parks. The China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, as China’s first national-level comprehensive overseas industrial park in Indonesia integrating industrial production, warehousing, and trade, was invited to attend and provided a detailed presentation on the zone’s development progress and its distinctive, value-added services. As an important platform for Chinese enterprises—including Hong Kong–invested firms—to invest and operate in Indonesia, the Cooperation Zone has deepened its presence in the Indonesian market, continuously enhanced its range of services, and warmly welcomes entrepreneurs from all regions to join forces in going global and pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation. During the event, Hong Kong entrepreneurs expressed strong interest in investing in the zone, and representatives of the Cooperation Zone engaged in interactive discussions with them on topics such as the negative list for investment, company incorporation, Indonesian tax regulations, and one-stop services.
