Bringing in and going global: expanding the network of connections once again—Delegation from Guangxi Road & Bridge Group Visits and Exchanges at the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone


On the morning of December 9, on the occasion of the establishment of the Indonesia Representative Office of Guangxi Road & Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd., Chen Kaiqun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the company, along with a delegation, paid a visit to the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone for an inspection.

The head of the Cooperation Zone briefed the delegation on the zone’s locational advantages and founding context, the development and construction timeline of Phase I, the lessons learned and insights gained, as well as best practices in port logistics and park investment and development.

During the symposium, the head of the Cooperation Zone provided the delegation with a brief overview of the Zone’s development over the past fifteen years, including the profile of resident enterprises, the local political and investment environment in Indonesia, and infrastructure developments. He emphasized that, as China’s first national-level overseas economic and trade cooperation zone in Indonesia integrating industrial production, warehousing and logistics, and trade, the Cooperation Zone has consistently adhered to the principle of mutual assistance and support for Chinese enterprises, helping more outstanding Chinese companies expand their operations abroad. He expressed the hope that a long-term communication mechanism could be maintained with Guangxi Road & Bridge Group, and affirmed that the Cooperation Zone will always adopt an open and transparent approach, welcoming distinguished domestic and international enterprises to visit the Zone for exchanges and learning.

Chen Kaiqun expressed his gratitude for the Cooperation Zone’s warm hospitality and commended the achievements it has made in recent years. He then provided a detailed overview of Guangxi Road & Bridge Group, covering its historical development, strategic positioning, core business strengths, and project development and operations. He noted that the Group has been active in international markets for more than two decades, having expanded into countries such as Bangladesh, Vietnam, Myanmar, Ecuador, and Indonesia. Its portfolio spans urban road construction, municipal elevated bridges, and the building of cross-sea (and cross-river) bridges, as well as bridge design and consulting services and real estate development projects. The Group is renowned for its high-quality engineering, stringent construction safety standards, and robust environmental protection measures, earning widespread acclaim from foreign governments, project owners, and local communities alike. He expressed the hope that enterprises on both sides will strengthen strategic mutual trust, deepen friendly cooperation, and jointly explore new markets, while looking forward to even closer exchanges and collaboration among Guangxi-based sister companies operating overseas.
