Xin Xiuming, Vice President of the China International Contractors Association, Led a Delegation on a Fact-Finding Visit to the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone
On June 12, a 15-member delegation from the China International Contractors Association, led by Vice President Xin Xiuming, visited the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”) for an inspection and research mission. The head of the Cooperation Zone extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and the two sides held a symposium at the Cooperation Zone’s office building.
Accompanied by the head of the Cooperation Zone, Vice President Xin Xiuming and his delegation toured the Cooperation Zone’s office building and inspected its infrastructure. During the symposium, the head of the Cooperation Zone first expressed gratitude to the China International Contractors Association for its consistent care and support for the zone, and expressed the hope that the Association would continue to pay close attention to, support, and assist the zone’s development and construction. Subsequently, the head of the Cooperation Zone provided a detailed briefing to the visiting delegation on the background of the zone’s development, its current construction and progress, and the strategic vision for developing Phase II into a “smart” industrial park.
Vice President Xin Xiuming pointed out that overseas economic and trade cooperation zones represent the optimal investment platform for Chinese enterprises “going global,” facilitating efficient, swift, and secure investment, production, and construction activities abroad. The China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone is among the earliest overseas economic and trade cooperation parks approved by the Chinese government following a competitive bidding process, and its achievements to date have been hard-earned. Vice President Xin Xiuming stated that the Chamber of Commerce will leverage its strong connections with large Chinese enterprises to actively promote collaboration between these companies and the cooperation zone.
The two sides also engaged in an in-depth exchange on the park’s land situation and the challenges faced by Chinese enterprises in their development in Indonesia. The delegation included leaders and representatives from more than ten major central and local Chinese enterprises, such as China Railway Group, China Harbour Engineering Company, and Guangxi Liugong.
According to available information, the China International Contractors Association is a national industry organization comprising Chinese investors, construction firms, and related enterprises operating in the infrastructure sector as part of China’s “going global” strategy. The Association currently has 1,500 members and its primary functions include helping member companies gain familiarity with overseas markets, establish partnerships, identify collaboration opportunities, and actively participate in the investment and construction of Belt and Road–related infrastructure and connectivity projects. This fact-finding delegation’s visit to the cooperation zone aims to fully leverage the Association’s role in promoting business development, assist member companies in tapping into high-potential national markets, explore opportunities for corporate transformation, and examine ways to advance investment cooperation with relevant countries and industrial parks.
