China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Honored as Outstanding Member Unit of the Indonesian Chinese General Chamber of Commerce for 2019
On December 15, 2019, the General Association of the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia held its 2019 Annual Members’ Conference in Jakarta, at which new members of the Board of Directors and a new President of the Chamber were elected, and the Outstanding Member Units for 2019 were also recognized. H.E. Xiao Qian, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, and Minister-Counselor Wang Liping of the Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Both H.E. Xiao Qian and H.E. Wang Liping highly commended the active participation of Chinese enterprises in the Belt and Road Initiative in 2019, particularly their achievements in Indonesia, and extended New Year greetings to all Chinese nationals residing in Indonesia.
During the conference, the All-Indonesia Chinese Chamber of Commerce presented the “2019 Outstanding Member Unit” award to entities such as the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Cooperation Zone). The award was jointly conferred by the Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and the All-Indonesia Chinese Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of recognizing outstanding Chinese-funded enterprises that actively participated in the activities of the All-Indonesia Chinese Chamber of Commerce in 2019, achieved significant growth in Indonesia, and made important contributions to China–Indonesia economic and trade cooperation.
In 2019, to foster exchanges and interactions between the park and Chinese-funded enterprises and to enhance the park’s visibility, the Cooperation Zone actively participated in various chamber of commerce events and proactively organized and took part in the “Three Ones” initiatives. Specifically, it hosted the Forum on Investment Risk Prevention and Control for Chinese-Funded Enterprises, arranged visits and study tours for chamber members to the Cooperation Zone and to Chinese-funded enterprises located within the zone, and other related activities, all of which were highly commended by chamber leaders and member companies.
This conference was co-hosted by the All-Indonesia Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was attended by more than 270 participants, including heads and representatives of Chinese-funded financial institutions, central state-owned enterprises, and well-known local companies based in Indonesia.
