Overcoming the Impact of the Pandemic, China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Achieves New Breakthroughs in Investment Attraction
On the morning of July 30, 2021, the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”) formally signed a land purchase agreement with Hong Kong ESR Redwood Group (hereinafter referred to as “ESR”). The ESR project marks the first major investment project introduced by the Cooperation Zone since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020; the land transaction covers approximately 65,000 square meters, making it the largest single land deal in the Cooperation Zone’s history since 2014.

According to reports, ESR, headquartered in Hong Kong, is a leading international publicly listed logistics real estate company. Its core business encompasses site selection, design, construction, and leasing of logistics properties. The company’s total assets exceed US$20 billion, with a combined gross floor area of more than 1,700 hectares, and its logistics assets are distributed across China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and other markets. In China alone, ESR operates 35 logistics parks.
Transfer of Land Certificates between the Two Parties
As a leading logistics real estate player in the Asia-Pacific region, ESR Group’s entry into the park will help further develop an e-commerce and logistics industry chain within the cooperation zone, thereby creating favorable conditions for attracting investment and driving industrial upgrading in Phase II of the park. Going forward, the Cooperation Zone will continue to focus on priority areas, deploy resources with precision, actively revitalize land resources within the zone, accelerate progress on Phase II projects, and ensure a strong start to the 14th Five-Year Plan period, thereby celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation with outstanding achievements.
