Shaanxi Provincial Business Delegation Visits and Exchanges at the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone
On March 19, following the China (Shaanxi)–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference held in Jakarta, a Shaanxi provincial business delegation of more than 30 members, led by Vice Governor Chen Chunjiang, visited the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”) for an inspection and exchange. During the symposium, the head of the Cooperation Zone provided the delegation with a detailed briefing on the zone’s development and construction, the profile of enterprises operating within the zone, and the investment and development status of Xidian Sko Indonesia Co., Ltd., a Shaanxi-based company that has established operations in the Cooperation Zone. The head expressed welcome for more Shaanxi enterprises to invest and do business in the Cooperation Zone and accompanied the delegation on a site visit to the Xidian Sko Indonesia factory for in-depth discussions and exchanges. Vice Governor Chen Chunjiang stated that Shaanxi is committed to advancing high-standard opening-up and actively encouraging local enterprises to “go global.” He expressed the hope that companies from Shaanxi in sectors such as new energy and machinery trade will expand into Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries, thereby strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Shaanxi and Indonesia and fostering mutual economic integration and synergy. Heads of participating enterprises from the Shaanxi provincial business delegation fully endorsed the Cooperation Zone’s locational advantages and its high degree of industrial clustering, and expressed their desire to further enhance coordination and exchanges with the Cooperation Zone to pursue collaborative development across more fields. Accompanying the delegation were Lei Jiangsheng, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shaanxi Provincial Government; Jia Feng, Party Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce; Wang Hongwei, Party Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Gao Jinxiao, Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Government Foreign Affairs Office; Zhong Wei, Vice Mayor of Xianyang City; Liu Zhongshan, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Yangling Demonstration Zone; as well as representatives from more than ten enterprises, including Shaanxi Shanmei Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. and Shaanxi Guantian Capital Management Co., Ltd.

Cai Lixin Leads Delegation on Inspection Visit to the China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone
On July 5, Cai Lixin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Party Committee and Executive Vice Chairwoman of the Regional People’s Government, led a delegation to conduct an in-depth inspection and provide guidance at the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”), calling for the zone to fully leverage its role as a “forward outpost” and make active contributions to attracting enterprises to invest in Guangxi. Lu Xinhua, Deputy Secretary-General of the Regional People’s Government; Nong Bing, Deputy Director of the Regional Development and Reform Commission; Wei Yu, Deputy Director of the Regional Foreign Affairs Office; and Bi Jianfeng, Director of the ASEAN Division, also took part in the inspection.

Safety and Fire Drill Training Activities Held in the Cooperation Zone
China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Co., Ltd. conducted a safety and fire-prevention drill, the primary objective of which was to enhance employees’ awareness of fire safety and their proficiency in using fire-fighting equipment. On October 6, 2022, China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Co., Ltd. held a safety and fire-prevention drill aimed at strengthening employees’ fire-safety awareness and their ability to operate fire-fighting equipment. To facilitate this event, the Cooperation Zone specially invited the Bekasi County Fire Department to conduct hands-on training and deliver an educational briefing. All employees of the Cooperation Zone participated and engaged in practical exercises with fire-fighting equipment.

9 month 22 On [date], a safety inspection team from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, led by Minister-Counselor Shi Ziming of the Commercial Section, conducted an inspection of Chinese-invested enterprises in the Cooperation Zone. Counselor Qiao Hao from the Military Attaché Office of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia accompanied the four-member delegation on the visit.

China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Conducts Eid al-Adha Condolence Visit
July 10, 2022, In the Islamic calendar, it is Eid al-Adha 1443. To mark the occasion of Eid al-Adha, on July 7, 2022, the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, in collaboration with resident enterprises and the Lushang International Industrial Center, organized an Eid al-Adha goodwill visit to the village where the zone is located, donating sacrificial animals to local residents. The head of the village committee in the zone attended the event and accepted the corporate social responsibility contributions from the Cooperation Zone and its resident enterprises on behalf of the villagers. The village committee chief stated that, over the years, the Cooperation Zone has consistently mobilized resident enterprises to join in extending festive greetings and support to impoverished villagers and to show care for vulnerable groups in the community, and that Nagasali Village expresses its gratitude for the positive role and benevolent initiatives demonstrated by the Cooperation Zone.

China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Conducts Eid al-Fitr Visits
On April 21, 2022, as Eid al-Fitr of the Islamic calendar year 1443 approached, the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, in keeping with its commitment to respect local traditional culture and religious beliefs and steadfastly upholding the principle of “win-win cooperation,” joined forces with resident enterprises to actively participate in a festive outreach initiative organized by the broader zone. The initiative delivered holiday gifts and blessings to Nagasali Village, where the cooperation zone is located. Upon receiving the gift packages on behalf of the villagers, the village chief expressed heartfelt gratitude for the zone’s care and support. He noted that since the zone began operations in 2010, it has created numerous employment opportunities for local residents, helped village-based enterprises expand their sales channels, and thereby boosted the village’s economic development. On behalf of the villagers, the village chief extended sincere thanks to the cooperation zone and wished it continued success and further growth.

Deepening Exchange and Cooperation, Sharing Development Opportunities | Foreign Economic Cooperation Company Conducts Inspection and Research Visit to a Renowned Cross-Border E-Commerce Enterprise in the Region and Reaches Intentions for Cooperation
On February 17 and 18, 2022, the Foreign Economic Cooperation Company conducted field visits to Guangxi Guimao Tianxia Enterprise Management Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Guimao Tianxia) and Guangxi Qidi Innovation Cross-Border E-Commerce Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Qidi Innovation Cross-Border), where it held symposiums with the heads of both companies. Through in-depth exchanges, the Foreign Economic Cooperation Company gained a thorough understanding of the business models and resource channels of Guimao Tianxia and Qidi Innovation Cross-Border, and studied in detail how they conduct international trade, operate public overseas warehouses, and engage in cross-border e-commerce. The two sides also reached a basic consensus on such matters as expanding overseas cooperation and leveraging the historic opportunities presented by the signing of the RECAP agreement. Finally, the Foreign Economic Cooperation Company and the two enterprises preliminarily agreed on cooperation initiatives, including jointly building overseas warehouses abroad and working together to facilitate the “going global” of domestic brands through cross-border e-commerce. According to reports, Guangxi Guimao Tianxia Enterprise Management Service Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive foreign trade service provider that integrates “new foreign trade” enterprise incubation with one-stop, integrated foreign trade services. In 2016, it was recognized by the Commerce Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as one of the first pilot enterprises for integrated foreign trade services in Guangxi. In 2020, the company’s import–export value reached US$225 million, it supported 75 incubated enterprises at its base, and provided integrated foreign trade services to more than 300 enterprises across the region. Guangxi Qidi Innovation Cross-Border E-Commerce Co., Ltd., on the other hand, is a specialized cross-border industrial service provider serving China–ASEAN relations. It has jointly established and operates, with Alibaba (China) Co., Ltd., the nation’s first Lazada Cross-Border Ecosystem Innovation Service Center targeting the e-commerce markets of the six ASEAN countries—Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. The company is committed to building a China–ASEAN cross-border e-commerce service ecosystem, creating a “Nanning channel” for China–ASEAN cross-border e-commerce, developing a China-brand overseas expansion system centered in Guangxi, and promoting Guangxi’s emergence as a leading hub for cross-border innovative service trade oriented toward ASEAN. Chen Yaomin, Chairman and General Manager of China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Co., Ltd., along with Li Jifeng, Deputy General Manager of the same company, accompanied the delegation during the symposiums.
