Foreign Economic Cooperation Company Holds Symposium with Beijing Investment Environmental Protection and Water Services Group
On February 17, Luo Shidong, General Manager of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Company of Guangxi Agricultural Reclamation Group, together with six other officials—including Chen Yaomin, Deputy General Manager of the same company and Chairman and General Manager of China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Co., Ltd.—held talks with a delegation led by Jiang Jianyi, General Manager of Guangxi Beitou Environmental Protection and Water Services Group (hereinafter referred to as Beitou Environmental Protection and Water Services Group), regarding water services cooperation under Phase II of the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone project. Luo Shidong briefed the guests on the Foreign Economic Cooperation Company’s reform and development over the past few years, as well as the company’s three core business areas: “one zone, one station, and one trade.” He noted that the company operates overseas in both Russia and Indonesia, with the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Indonesia being among the first batch of state-certified overseas economic and trade parks in China. He expressed hope for further communication and exchange with Beitou Water Services Group to identify areas of synergy and entry points for collaboration, leverage each party’s strengths while mitigating weaknesses, and thereby promote mutually beneficial cooperation. Chen Yaomin provided an overview of the construction and development of the cooperation zone, with particular emphasis on the preliminary work for Phase II. He stated that he hoped Beitou Environmental Protection and Water Services Group would offer valuable professional advice on the infrastructure development of Phase II, especially regarding the park’s water supply and drainage systems. Jiang Jianyi introduced the basic profile of Beitou Environmental Protection and Water Services Group. He explained that the group is a key state-owned, region-level specialized platform for environmental protection and water services investment and operations under the umbrella of Beitou Group, focusing on the investment, construction, and operational management of water supply and wastewater treatment projects, and committed to promoting the sustainable development of the socio-economic system and environmental resources. Currently, in response to the national call and taking advantage of the historic opportunity presented by the signing of the RCEP agreement, the group is actively seeking opportunities to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative. It hopes to strengthen communication and exchanges with the cooperation zone, enhance mutual trust, and achieve win-win development. Zhou Minghui, Chief Accountant of Beitou Environmental Protection and Water Services Group, along with representatives from relevant departments and subsidiary enterprises on both sides, attended the meeting. Chen Yaomin, Chairman and General Manager of China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Co., Ltd., and Li Jifeng, Deputy General Manager of the same company, accompanied the delegation during the talks.

Leaders of Indonesia’s National Immigration Agency Visit the China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone to Inspect Resident Enterprises
On the morning of September 23, 2021, Agota P.P. Simamora, Director of Information Systems and Technology at the Indonesian Immigration Agency, visited the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone to inspect Naya Global Chemical Co., Ltd., one of the zone’s resident enterprises. Ms. Wu Ren explained that Naya Global Chemical is a subsidiary of GLOBAL MAS GROUP, primarily engaged in the production of water-treatment chemicals—including coagulants, scale inhibitors, and non-oxidizing biocides—while also providing related technical services as a complementary offering. The company plans to commence operations in November this year. In addition to manufacturing water-treatment chemicals, it will be able to tailor customized water-treatment optimization solutions for clients, delivering the highest-quality, most environmentally friendly products and services. China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Bolsters Pandemic Defenses and Fully Advances Vaccination Campaign
Since 2021, the Cooperation Zone has actively responded to the Indonesian government’s call and accelerated the vaccination of employees at enterprises within the zone against COVID-19. As of the end of August 2021, a total of 2,721 individuals in the zone had received the COVID-19 vaccine, including 1,284 who had completed the two-dose regimen and 1,437 who had received the first dose. Going forward, the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone will further promote vaccination among employees of zone-based enterprises, comprehensively increase the vaccination rate, and effectively strengthen the defense against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, Indonesia Wanjie Co., Ltd., an enterprise operating within the China-India Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, successfully exported disposable syringes and auto-disable syringes (ADS) in response to requests from UNICEF and Ukraine’s IRRA, totaling 200 containers—approximately 150 million ADS syringes.

On the morning of July 30, 2021, the China–Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the “Cooperation Zone”) formally signed a land purchase agreement with Hong Kong ESR Redwood Group (hereinafter referred to as “ESR”). The ESR project marks the first major investment project introduced by the Cooperation Zone since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020; the land transaction covers approximately 65,000 square meters, making it the largest land deal in the Cooperation Zone’s history since 2014.

July 20, 2021, marked Eid al-Adha, one of Indonesia’s most important traditional festivals. While the pandemic has been relentless, human compassion endures. In the lead-up to Eid al-Adha, recognizing that impoverished residents in villages surrounding the cooperation zone have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in acute shortages of food and daily necessities, the cooperation zone, while steadfastly maintaining rigorous epidemic prevention and control measures, has also actively fulfilled its social responsibility. On July 18, the zone, in collaboration with resident enterprises, organized a慰问 (comfort) visit to local villagers, aiming to help them celebrate Eid al-Adha. Through these outreach activities, the cooperation zone and its resident companies have further strengthened their cooperation and exchanges with neighboring villagers, working together to combat the pandemic and overcome this challenging period.

This year was particularly unusual, as the global pandemic continued to rage and countries around the world were engaged in intensive efforts to combat it. In light of the severe shortages of food and daily necessities faced by impoverished residents in villages surrounding the cooperation zone as Eid approached, the zone, while steadfastly maintaining rigorous epidemic prevention and control measures, also actively fulfilled its social responsibility. On May 7, in coordination with the local government, the zone organized a慰问 (comfort) visit to local villagers, providing assistance to help them celebrate Eid al-Fitr. Through these outreach activities, the zone has continuously strengthened cooperation and communication with the local government and neighboring villagers, working together to fight the pandemic and overcome this challenging period.
